Shanghai China Intercontinental Hotel
One of the world's leading hotel companies, the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), is opening the Intercontinental Shanghai Wonderland, which has been under construction for 10 years. Today IhG (Intercontinental Hotel Group) celebrates the opening of its first new hotel in Shanghai, China since its opening in 2009.
Developed by the Shimao Group and managed by IHG, InterContinental Shanghai Wonderland is being built on the site of a former abandoned quarry in the heart of Shanghai. The hotel is located in a water-filled, disused quarry, which contains only two ground floors, 16 more levels fall into the quarry below.
